Oh, The Places I’ll Go!

This past weekend , my library had its October book sale.  The sale began at 4 pm on the 17th and ended on the 20th.  On the 17th alone, I purchased books 13 books for $23.  That’s 13 books for the price of one brand new hardback. (Admittedly nowadays, most brand new hard backs seem priced much higher than $25.)  See some of my purchases below:

  • Numbers In The Dark by Italo Calvino
  • The Rook by Daniel O’Malley
  • Hearstone by C.J. Sansome
  • The Great Bridge by David McCullough
  • The Other Tudors by Philippa Jones
  • Her Majesty’s Spymaster: Elizabeth I, Sir Francis Walsingham, And The Birth Of Modern Espionage by Stephen Budiansky
  • Stories Of The Sioux by Luther Standing Bear
  • A Murder, A Mystery, And A Marriage by Mark Twain
  • The Dream of Scipio by Ian Pears
  • A Stranger In Mayfair by Charles Finch
  • Full Dark: A Peculiar Crimes Unit Mystery by Christopher Fowler
  • The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Sahffer
  • The Light Between Oceans: A Novel by M.L. Stedman
  • The Little Friend by Donna Tartt
  • The Brothers Ashkenazi by I. J. Singer
  • The Yiddish Policemen’s Union: A Novel (P.S.) by Michael Chabon
  • The Water Cooler by Christopher Fowler

Have you read any of these books?  What did you think?
